I am BACK

Happy New Year to all! I know many of you have been wondering where the heck did I go. Well, I just kind of lived for awhile. I just did not have enough time, or I should say I did not make enough time. Bad thing. So, one of my resolutions for this wonderful New Year is to get back into blogging! Aren't you so happy?
So to start off, here is a list of my New Years Resolutions:
1. I will be healthy all year
2. I will loose at least 40 pounds.
3. I will be happy all year.
4. I will try to be less angry.
5. I will try and blog everyday.
6. I will maintain a positive attitude in all I do.
7. I will shower love on my family and friends.
8. I will savor and enjoy each day.
9. I will play in the rain.
10. I will love deeper.
Ok, 2009, here I come.

Hot at the Relay, but worth the sweat!

Good Monday to all!

Well, this past weekend I attend my first Relay for Life event. Boy, it was amazing! Does anyone else ? Email me and let me know! I received a "survivor" t-shirt, participated in the survivor lap, attended the luminary ceremony (very emotional) and did my laps from 4am to 5am and raised $400.00! Yahoo! Thank you to everyone that donated! I really, really enjoyed the entire event, even though it was 108 degrees here. I have signed up to do another Relay for Life event in September. I have decided to do the circuit, the Relay for Life circuit, the Lance Armstrong event, and anyother event that raises awareness! That is one of my new missions.

I have been riding the bus to work and then walking about 6 blocks. What an adventure, the bus...you meet so many diverse people. Only cost $1.00 each way, alot cheaper than gas. Oh, and I am on the 10,000 step program, wear my pediometer every day, managing to walk those 10,000 steps. I am loosing the weight, slowly. Someone told me that when you get to be "my age" it is harder to loose weight. I felt like hitting them. Still having anger issues. LOL

Show Me the Money!

Show me the money! I want to thank everyone that has donated to my local Relay for Life event that is THIS WEEKEND! Thank you , Thank you, Thank you!!
I am really looking forward to walking the Survivors Lap! I am so awestruck by so many individuals that are survivors. They are truly amazing! My time slot for my Relay for Life Team is….4 a.m. to 5 a.m. I know, too early but my thought process was if we were in the mist of one of our hot spells of 105 degrees, 4 o’clock in the morning wouldn’t looks so bad.
The Relay For Life Event looks so fun. You actually can camp out all night with your teammates, some of them fellow survivors. I am just so jazzed to participate, can you tell?
Anyway, one more pitch to have you donate. I understand if you don’t, times are tough no doubt. But if you can, I sure would greatly appreciate it!
Think about me at around 9:00 a.m. on Saturday June 21, as I am making that Survivors Lap, with a big ole smile on my face and enjoying every minute : ) Lets beat Cancer! Find a cure!

Relay For Life

Dear Family and Friends;

Greetings! I hope this email finds you well and enjoying the wonderful spring (soon to be summer) weather! As you know, I was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer in August of 2007. On March 12, 2008, I had my left kidney removed, along with the cancer. I am now cancer-free, YAHOO!

Not being one to sit around and do nothing, I've decided to take action against cancer by participating in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life event in Turlock. Relay For Life is about celebration, remembrance, and hope. By participating, I am honoring cancer survivors, paying tribute to the lives we've lost to the disease, and raising money to help fight it.

Please help support me in this important cause by making a donation. It is faster and easier than ever to support me by making a secure, tax-deductible donation online using the link below.

Here is my own donation web page:

My goal is $1,000.00 or above! Whatever you can give will help - it all adds up!

I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Love to you!

God Bless America!

Hellooooo

Helloooooo! Here I am, back to my usual happy go lucky self. It has been a long road of recovery. I never in a million years would have thought that it would be this hard. The first surgery in January, the partial nephrectomy, was easy, I guess I shouldn’t say easy, but I managed fine. Now, come the hysterectomy and the full nephrectomy, then the infection…whew, it was hard!
So, anyway, I am staying positive and walking around 5 miles a day. I walk, and I walk and I walk. I am getting back in shape, however, I have a roll right below my ribcage. If you know me, you know I do not gain weight in my gut but rather in my butt. Now the butt area needs some weight management, but I just do not get the gut. I have been told NOT to do abdominal exercises as of yet, for another 3 weeks. You would figure though with the walking, and the eating correctly, the roll would be shrinking…NOT. So, to ease my mind, I called my urologist and she made me an appointment for next Thursday to evaluate my roll.
I will return to work on June 9. The doctor (gynecologist) does not want me sitting upright due to the wound infection. That is all right with me. I am enjoying the time off. I walk and I walk and I walk. Perfect weather for walking.
